no, the modules are compiled by make-kpkg and bundled up into the .deb. when you do "dpkg --install kernel-image.blah-blah.deb" dpkg handles installing the new kernel for you. it also asks if you'd like to install it with lilo, according to your current /etc/lilo.conf. very nice, and very quick. -- Graham Ashton Futures Testbed, Futures Lab, BT
