Hi all!

I have a problem with my system. Unfortunately the PC floppy drives
allow to remove floppy even if it is mounted. If later someone tries
to use the directory where the floppy was mounted, the system crashes.

I had also similar problems when during the mount the file system wasn't
specified correctly (e.g. umsdos instead of ext2fs).

Once there was a power supply failure in the external zip drive - results
where the same. It was necessary to perform hardware reset in the
computer, and then run fsck... :-(

Is it possible to make my system less sensitive for errors occuring in
using removable media?

I'm going to use one of my linux boxes for continous recording of
biomedical signals, and I wouldn't like to be forced to remove all
floppy drives from it to avoid risk of hang up.

May be there is something wrong with the configuration of my computers?

                                Thanks in advance
                                Wojtek Zabolotny
