Hmm. How's it plug into the machine? If it's plugged into a serial port, it's probably got to be on a com port. But if you have a recent motherboard, it could be on com3 or com4 -- try the other /dev/ttys[2..4] entries as the Device "/dev/ttywhatever" entry, and see if that helps. Also, you might want to check your kernel messages on boot and see if the serial driver is installed -- try "more < /var/log/messages" to check this, and you should see something about tty00--tty03. It's also possible that your serial port is by default configured for the wrong IRQ, in which case you'll need to use setserial.
