If anyone knows how to get Firefox and Thunderbird to default to the old keyboard shortcuts, I would like to know about it.

Some additional notes are now in /usr/share/doc/mozilla-firefox/README.Debian .
And Sam, to clear the search bar, Ctrl-J, Delete or just type new entry.
