KDE (and afaik GNOME), to my dismay, don't use the debian menu system
for the primary menus but tack a 'Debian Menu' on the end. The menu
system maintains this sub-menu in these cases. Are you sure it isn't
under there? Look at the contents of /usr/lib/menu/gschem to find out
what part of the menu it would normally be placed under.

If you have tampered with your local user's individual menu (i.e. either
~/.menu or ~/.menu-methods exists) then you must explicitly run
update-menus yourself and restart your menu-carrying program.
