The problem might not be with your PC. If you have a friend or cow orker with a compatable USB cradle see if you can test your palm there. A couple of weeks ago my m505's USB port got wedged and quit working. The only solution was to completely drain the batteries (backlight on and a <cursive l shortcut symbol>.1 shortcut to disable auto poweroff) This WILL erase all of your data. If you have acccess to a serial cradle, IRDA port, or a MMC memory card you can use it to do a backup.
