Do NOT do this. This would cause the generic usb to serial driver to want to bind to your device, and not have the visor driver bind to it (luckily it looks like it is working properly in your kernel log messages, but still...) Where did you see written that you should do this to get your device to work? As for why it did work, and doesn't anymore, sorry I don't know, your kernel log messages show the driver is working properly.
