Hello. I currently use Tekram DC-390U2W and U3W SCSI cards with no problem. I have not used the 315, but there is a Linux driver on the Tekram site if you don't find one in the kernel sources.
You can also try www.lsilogic.com and pick the 'Host Bus Adapter link' and then 'SCSI HBA'. Drivers are available in the kernel source for just about all of these adapter. They use the NCR53c8xx chips or newer variations of those. They may be a little more expensive buying from this site, but I don't think you will have any problem getting them to work. Can anyone recommend a cheap SCSI controller? I'm putting together a little network server for my home LAN and want to attach a SCSI DDS2 DAT drive I have for backups. It's an older DDS2 drive so I think just about any PCI controller will be able to keep it's channel filled, and that's the only device that will be on the SCSI bus. I see Adaptec has just about driven everyone else out of business, but I do see some Tekram cards pretty cheap. I see one place has 'em for $16!! Now that's what I'm looking for! Anyone have any experience with a Tekram DC-315 SCSI controller? It's BIOS-less, so no booting but I don't need that anyway. Thanks, Gary
