Don't know.
i read up the documentation. from what i understand, it can not. dont you think downloading headers alone first, deleting unwanted ones off the server itself and finally downloading the required ones is a more efficient way (in terms of internet bandwidth)? is there any way of achieving it?

Anything that works to read your UNIX mail spool should work (unless
you set up exim and/or procmail to put your mail elsewhere), which
means probably every MUA shipped with Debian.

well, i tried to setup mozilla for reading mail. but it only handles pop and imap3!!
