Actually, I am reading this list with gnus (through news.gmane.org). ;-) I had been using vm for a while and finally didn't like it much, and setting up gnus for mail the way I wanted it didn't seem very straightforward or possible. For mail, I like to be able to easily push messages around between folders. Because I don't always exactly remember the hierarchy of folders I have, the easiest way is having it shown on screen and using the mouse in many cases.
