As well, himem with Linux is not as much of an issue so long as you aren't using a really old box (with a 16 MB memory problem) or going over 64 GB iirc on current systems. Remember when himem meant more than 640 KB? Remember when himem meant more than 48 KB on old 6502-based systems? -- Mark L.
