Hi David. Well as Maxy could not reproduce it and it is no issue for you anymore, I'd rather wait whether there someone else has the same issue. It could be reopened then or a new bug reported.
I see no real benefit in keeping a bug open cause it *may* be relevant to someone else. Let's see whether it is actually an issue for some else. If that is okay with you, there is no need to reply. BTW Debian has already been released as Debian 10 aka Buster. But let's not discuss other issues with sound cards or whatever else in this bug report, there is always debian-kde mailing list you can ask about help with issues you have¹.
