Without libkf5akonadisearch-plugins kmail is not able to search for Mails using "Tools-FindMessages...".

You also need libkf5akonadisearch-bin, and the indexer needs to have processed the folders you are searching on.

But thats a main feature regarding professional use of kmail which includes many folders and subfolders and several GiB of Mails. Additionally a Menu Item, which appears to be working and is not greyed out should definitely work by default and therefore ship the necessary libs without bothering the user.

At the same time it's a feature that consumes a great amount of resources, particularly if you have GBs of Mails. And removing the indexer (libkf5akonadisearch-bin) is a straight forward way to disable the feature. This might be a bit of nitpicking based on my personal use case, it would be nice enough for me if the indexer can be disabled (for good) from akonadiconsole, but so far the things that I tried bring it back on the next session.

I'm adding libkf5akonadisearch-plugins and libkf5akonadisearch-bin as a recommends to libkf5akonadisearchpim5 for the next release. As a compromise I'll also add libkf5akonadisearch-plugins as a dependency to kmail. I'm still open to be proven wrong here (either by the need of the indexer or about the way to disable the indexer without removing it).

Happy hacking,
