Package: kde-window-manager Version: 4:4.8.4-6 Severity: normal The README.Debian is written against 4.0. The information is in all aspects not relevant any more, for example it says that compositing support is still immature and disabled by default. The instructions on how to enable do not reflect the current situation at all.
My recommendation is to just remove this README. Given that the information is completely wrong it might also be a good idea to remove it in an update from stable and oldstable. Credits for this bug report goes to http://sources.debian.net which allowed me to explore what Debian is shipping ;-) -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.9-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages kde-window-manager depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:4.8.4-2+b1 ii kde-style-oxygen 4:4.8.4-6 ii libc6 2.17-6 ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 8.0.5-6 ii libice6 2:1.0.8-2 ii libkactivities6 4:4.8.4-1 ii libkcmutils4 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libkdeclarative5 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libkdecorations4 4:4.8.4-6 ii libkdecore5 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libkdeui5 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libkephal4abi1 4:4.8.4-6 ii libkio5 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libknewstuff3-4 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libkwineffects1abi3 4:4.8.4-6 ii libkwinglutils1 4:4.8.4-6 ii libkworkspace4abi1 4:4.8.4-6 ii libplasma3 4:4.8.4-4+b1 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.4+dfsg-4 ii libqt4-declarative 4:4.8.4+dfsg-4 ii libqt4-script 4:4.8.4+dfsg-4 ii libqt4-xml 4:4.8.4+dfsg-4 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.4+dfsg-4 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.4+dfsg-4 ii libsm6 2:1.2.1-2 ii libstdc++6 4.8.1-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.0-1 ii libxcomposite1 1:0.4.4-1 ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.13-1+deb7u1 ii libxdamage1 1:1.1.3-2 ii libxext6 2:1.3.1-2+deb7u1 ii libxfixes3 1:5.0-4+deb7u1 ii libxrandr2 2:1.3.2-2+deb7u1 ii libxrender1 1:0.9.7-1+deb7u1 ii perl 5.14.2-21 kde-window-manager recommends no packages. kde-window-manager suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
