Hi Martin! First of all, thanks a lot for looking at this, it's very nice to have upstream checking this stuff :-D According to the debian changelog, README.Debian was removed in 4:4.6.2-1. The only version that's still in Debian of this file in in Squeeze, which is the current oldstable, ie, half-deprecated. If that's the case, desktop users should have switched at least to Wheezy now. Or maybe it was another file you where talking about?
