My guess is that this is a bug in KHTML and/or nspluginviewer.
The same phenomenon can be triggered by deactivating plugins in Konqueror and 
then surfing to a website with Flash. e.g. Flash ads.

It seems that "Deactivate Plugins" (which is what Akregator might be using 
internally as well) is taking into account too late, i.e. nspluginviewer 
decides not to load the plugin while it might be better to not start it at 
all. (of course this is just speculation)
