Package: kdebase-data Version: 4:3.5.5a-1 Severity: important
-- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (991, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-grml Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (ignored: LC_ALL set to [EMAIL PROTECTED]) -- no debconf information /etc/xdg/menus contains a subdirectory calles kde-applications-merged which seems to be used by KDE instead of applications-merged However, according to the lastest available specification on freedesktop.org, the directoy applications-merged is the only valid one: "... Note that a system that uses either gnome-applications.menu or kde-applications.menu depending on the desktop environment in use must still use applications-merged as the default merge directory in both cases." from http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/ar01s02.html Not sure if the respective GNOME or XFCE package breaks this as well. The result of this derivation is that menus installed by packages or installers following the published specification do not show up in the user's application menu, but all entries of said menus appear in a lost&found style menu.
