Package: konsole Version: 4:25.04.2-1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
I (accidentally) used the cat command on a binary file. After some output, a new window opened with an error message "No suitable ZModem software was found on this system. You may wish to install the 'rzsz' or 'lrzsz' package." It appears that konsole attempted to execute an additional program, which is not expected behavior. I only expect the file to be displayed in the konsole window without any interpretation. The binary file in question can be found here: https://gitlab.mpcdf.mpg.de/mpifr-bdg/mpikat/-/blob/dev/mpikat/pipelines/alveo_firmwares/a_pfb_u280_x64_dual_8b12b.xclbin?ref_type=heads I initially used zsh, but I tried the same command in konsole using bash, showing the same behavior. I also tried the command in xterm., which did not show any unexpected behavior. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.1 APT prefers stable-security APT policy: (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.48+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_IE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_IE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages konsole depends on: ii kio6 6.13.0-6 ii konsole-kpart 4:25.04.2-1 ii libc6 2.41-12 ii libkf6colorscheme6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6configcore6 6.13.0-2 ii libkf6configgui6 6.13.0-2 ii libkf6configwidgets6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6coreaddons6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6crash6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6dbusaddons6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6globalaccel6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6guiaddons6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6i18n6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6iconthemes6 6.13.0-2 ii libkf6kiowidgets6 6.13.0-6 ii libkf6notifyconfig6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6service-bin 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6service6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6widgetsaddons6 6.13.0-1 ii libkf6windowsystem6 6.13.0-2 ii libkf6xmlgui6 6.13.0-1 ii libqt6core6t64 6.8.2+dfsg-9 ii libqt6gui6 6.8.2+dfsg-9 ii libqt6widgets6 6.8.2+dfsg-9 ii libstdc++6 14.2.0-19 konsole recommends no packages.
