I agree, but in which preinst? openoffice.org rules out for obvious reasons, -common and -core might be candidates, but still stuff get unpacked before -core when you upgrade. (Unless I'd make all other packages pre-depend on the *exact* -core so that -core's preinst is ran at the beginning, which is bad imho) > It could ask if it should stop or not (as the kernel does, > for instance).
