Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.0.99+1.1rc3-1 Severity: minor
The OpenOffice 1.1 package is using Microsoft Office format for the default format to save the documents. The merge of the Ximian patches is a good thing, but I think this "feature" is a serious error. Debian and Debian Developers should take care of the open and free (as in freedom) standards and promote it over the propietary document formats. The default document formats must be the OpenOffice file format, XML gzipped files that all the world can read and convert. Please, this bug I sent have severity minor, but I think this issue is a urgent thing. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux debian 2.6.0-test5 #7 Tue Sep 23 00:21:58 CEST 2003 i586 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages openoffice.org depends on: ii dictionaries-common 0.15.3 Common utilities for spelling dict ii openoffice.org-bin 1.0.99+1.1rc3-1 OpenOffice.org office suite binary ii openoffice.org-debian-fi 1.0.99+1.1rc3-2 Debian specific parts of OpenOffic ii openoffice.org-l10n-en [ 1.0.99+1.1rc3-1 English (US) language package for ii openoffice.org-l10n-es [ 1.0.99+1.1rc3-1 Spanish language package for openo -- no debconf information
