The libc6 lib is an "official" one as

$ dpkg -l libc6

| Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err:

deb file:/usr/src/debian stable utils

The deb file source stands for local development projects, without a libc6
replacement or so.
I installed from the cdrom set, and after I commented out the cd sources to
maintain the system from the net.

Perhaps is something messed in my system: I've finished yesterday the
installation of a new system on a Toshiba laptop, (net installation), from
similar sources -excludig cdrom sources- and with a new location for the
kde sources: (deb http://download.kde.org/stable/3.1.1/Debian stable main) and
the openoffice does not crash anymore, !! BUT THE dpkg -l libc6 commad NOW
REPORTS a 2.2.5-11.5 libc6 VERSION !

(But in the fist system I did nothing explicitely to upgrade to the 2.3
!!!???)

Thanks
