A very good friend of mine, who is well beyond 50 years old, just got hired by a company. They said they chose him over younger candiates because he mentioned in the interview that he is not afraid of maintaining legacy code. They had four people just right out of school resign in their first month because those people were expected to also maintian older code that doesn't use the latest frameworks. This behavior/attitute is obviously very common in younger people.
