Rewriting such software in a language that require yearly maintainance
does not simplify maintainance in the long run, quite the opposite.
FWIW, a Ruby script I wrote to help me triage DSAsยน is approaching its
20th birthday, I'm happy to report Ruby appears to have avoided any
disasters like Python's 2โ3 transition.
