Thanks for working on this. I finally had a read over it today.
I've found the split in discussion between this list and the Merge Request
comments
hard to manage. It would help a lot, I think, if some of the MR threads were
marked
resolved, assuming the issues they describe are resolved. That would reduce the
amount of stuff to read.
I got random errors from Gitlab whilst trying to add comments myself
("Error dismissing suggestion popover. Please try again.") but perhaps they're
irrelevant (or perhaps nobody will see my comments).
My overall impression is that this is a bold attempt, but the document could do
with some copy-editing to whittle it down, make it more focussed, and possibly
narrow the scope. E.g. perhaps Gitlab CI is too much in one go? Could that be
done further down the line in a follow-up DEP?
There are a few references to DEP-14, which Bastian points out has been in
"candidate" state since 2020. Your proposal is not strictly depending on
DEP-14, but I wonder if someone invested should try and get that one over
the line as well (if not before). It would give me (and I wager others) more
confidence in the whole DEP process if more of the proposals made it into a
"final" state than are now.
