I'd use aptitude if I wanted Recommends installed by default. I'm using apt-get precisely because it's not doing this kind of stupid things. And I'd really like it if it could stay that way: use aptitude if you want your Recommends installed by default, and leave apt-get alone for the folks who like its current behaviour.
