Unrelated to your *actual* problem, but I've had a stuck screensaver before and important data I didn't want to kill, so I know the feeling: If you get stuck like this again, you can switch to a text console w/ Ctrl+Alt+F1, log in as root, and do a "killall -9 kdesktop_lock". -- Wesley J.
