With consequent increase in CPU time to compress and extract the packages. A more compelling reason is that some upstreams only distribute in bz2, and this would enable us to distribute the actual upstream version without repacking. Presumably the wig-and-pen source format will (eventually?) support this? Don Armstrong -- Quite the contrary; they *love* collateral damage.
