I think so. How many systems (aside from the "big ones" like MSN, Gmail, ...,
which are generally known) do you estimate would be affected? At most sites
outgoing messages stay with the same host until delivered, except after the
initial delivery attempt a temporarily failed message may be passed to
a "secondary" MTA.

Deal with it when people complain. Also, this kind of information can be
shared so that not every mail admin has to find it out himself by users
complaining.
