What dou you think about the idea, that because non-free drivers and firmwares are droped from "main" we write wrapers and loaders which GET the drivrs and firmwares from the manufacturer provided DriverCD's. I have allready done this for two Enterprises here in Strasbourg using "cabextract" or "unzip" to get the stuff... I have done this wit an experimental "win32codec-graber" whichget the windows codecs from the original Win95, Win98, Win2000 and WinXP CD's. This will solv all problems distributing non-free stuff because $USER which want to use non-free stuf must provide a legal licence to use it which is generaly fullfiled if you have the Win-CD's. Just an Idea.
