You probably did open the bug before the dinstall run that installed the new package. Therefor britney was confused and thought the bug would apply to the package in sarge, too (as at the time it saw the bug the first time the version in sid and sarge were identical). So the package in sid wasn't more buggy than the one in sarge ...
