I already thought about this; when 2.6 becomes stable, I intent to upload a new revision. But I still have some questions: - may the package libsysfs alter /etc/fstab? According to 'dpkg -S /etc/fstab' it does not really belong to a specific package (in this case modification would be prohibited IIRC). ATM my favourite solution is to have a debconf question. What do you think? normal/default yes, important/default no or even normal/default no? - I sometimes switch to my old 2.4 for testing purposes. Then of course mounting /sys will fail and the user will get an error message (it doesn't harm, though). This problem could only be circumvented by not mounting /sys in /etc/fstab, but doing that in an init script which checks which kernel version runs ATM. Do you think that it is worth the effort? - By now I don't allow sysfsutils to go into Sarge because it isn't used yet (udev, diagnostics...). My personal feeling is to wait until kernel 2.6 stable is in sarge and udev is in unstable and works. I appreciate any hints and comments. Have a nice weekend!
