I continued to be mystified as to why you think anybody who is both interested in installing an advanced DBMS, and capable of operating such, is not capable of reading a simple declaritive sentence in the package description. The people who are likely to run MaxDB are exactly those who are more likely to have built their own kernel, and forcing them to jump through extra hoops is not going to win you fans.
