There's nothing wrong with the version number - 0.90~rc3-1 *is* >= 0.88.6. The new clamav packages have bumped the library version and now use libclamav2. dansguardian depends on libclamav1, which depends on clamav, which depends on libclamav2, which conflicts with libclamav, which is provided by libclamav1 (and 2, but that's irrelevant at this point)... The net effect is that one currently can't install dansguardian in unstable, as you've discovered - dansguardian needs rebuilding to use libclamav2.
