Package: emacs20
Version: 20.7-13.1
Severity: grave
Tags: security
In emacs20, the call-process-region function creates a temporary
file insecurely. It may be possible for a local attacker to
corrupt arbitrary files as another user. Also, the temporary
file can be wiretapped by another user.
In emacs21, this problem has already been fixed. emacs21 uses
mkstemp() instead of mktemp(). See `src/callproc.c'.
I hope that backport patch will be applied.
