I've tried this in vmware. Apparently you should be able to use the Vista
installer's "Recovery Environment" [1] to run chkdsk.
Unfortunately it seems that the Vista installer dislikes what ntfsresize
has done so much that that also fails to boot! I am completely amazed
that an installer can fail to boot because of changes in a partition on
the harddisk, but M$ seems to have managed it.

I can still boot the installer (and access the recovery options) if I use
a snapshot for a "working" Vista, so it must be somehow related to the
resize.

I'll give it a try on "real" hardware as well, but unsure when I'll be
able to do that.

Cheers,
FJP
