Sorry, I really don't have time for this.

It's not just me. Googling up the same error reports plenty of similar
cases on Ubuntu derivatives. For obvious reasons, such regressions
appear sooner there due to Ubuntu's more frequent release schedule.

I don't use secure boot. The firmware boots the first EFI partition it finds.
