Dude, that's not how this works. You want to make a change that
deviates us from upstream, that means you get to justify the chane in
a manner that's sufficient that I can both understand it and feel
confident in proposing it upstream.
We really need to deviates from upstream as we (and Debian derivatives +
Gentoo) are not following the FHS by installing the 64-bit libraries in
/lib instead of /lib64 on 64-bit architectures.
Upstream follows the FHS.
