In Bullseye, change the fam package to import the gamin source, and then bump the fam package version number. The fam package would actually be the same as gamin, and upgrades would avoid any packaging system deficiencies in choosing between gamin and fam for upgrade.
That sounds very confusing and outright wrong, IMO. What's wrong with just dropping fam? (Whether right now for Bullseye or at any later point in time...)
