Hello, For the record, the following from bug #756176 (request was cancelled) is relevant here:
"This is not entirely correct, python-librabbitmq is actively maintained, its last release 1.5.2[0] was 2 months ago." and "If installed, python-librabbitmq is preferred[1] over python-amqp by celery because it is much faster and recommended for larger deployments." As far as I can tell, python-librabbitmq doesn't support Python 3 (?), which might be difficult to do (?) being a non-native C based library. < https://docs.python.org/3/howto/cporting.html> However it seems like it does still have a place in Debian, despite this limitation.
