The libwxgtk2.8-dbg package contains a build of wxwidgets2.8 with WXDEBUG enabled (like wxwidgets3.0 has by default) if you want to confirm this for yourself. You will need to rebuild wxsqlite3 against this first though, as the WXDEBUG build is ABI incompatible with the standard build, so mixing the two won't work.
