Thanks for the nice reply... I guess there is a little misunderstanding. To my knowledge the pscs daemon should provide an entrance in /var/log/pscd/. If this directory is empty there must be something wrong with pcscd at startup. Right?
After starting pcscd manually, # pcscd, there is pcscd.comm and pcscd.pid located in /var/run/pcscd. To my knowledge these 2 files should be there after the start of the system.
