Thank you very much. However, I have long had my kernel configurator set to build all modular content right into the kernel. Actually, there is one exception: following is the print-out from MAKE MODULES_INSTALL. INSTALL drivers/scsi/scsi_wait_scan.ko DEPMOD 2.6.32 I really do not like exceptions when dealing with computers; yet this one is hard-headed to an unbelievable degree. Not only can I find no control for it in MAKE MENUCONFIG, but it has stubbornly resisted all efforts to build it into the kernel itself, including directly editing the file .config to change its M into a Y. If you can tell me how to get at the root cause of this exception, I will gladly eliminate it. Otherwise, it will surely respond to proper handling using MAKE MODULES_INSTALL.
