Ok, I was apparently to fast to judge. I'm sorry, maybe there are multiple issues to work around and the cairo workaround only partially fixes stuff. Still this issue doesn't seem to be affecting anyone not using fglrx... I can't help myself questioning the values of locating workarounds for buggy proprietary drivers and it that's really release critical for *iceweasel*.....
