Package: gnome-power-manager
Version: 2.28.1-2
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Running on AC power, settings are to blank screen on lid, and indeed
that is what g-p-m does, only that when opening the lid it simply
does not turn on the display again. All dark, whatever I do, manual
adjustment of brightness levels, nothing works.

At the same time, suspending on battery power with g-p-m by closing
the lid goes into an infinite suspend-resume cycle (well after 5 iterations
I Sysrq-ed out).

Keeping in mind that a simple call to
        s2ram -f
simply worked out of the box from X, <1sec for suspend and <1sec for resume
and everything working, can anyone explain what is the usage of g-p-m if
it only breaks everyting.

BTW, the severity is critical and I insist on that. One *cannot* select
a different action but blanking on lid closure in g-p-m, so that will
happen regardless what I do -- there is no "No Action". Thus, it will
break *every* time I close the lid even when running on AC power.
