Package: gnome-power-manager Version: 2.28.1-2 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
Running on AC power, settings are to blank screen on lid, and indeed that is what g-p-m does, only that when opening the lid it simply does not turn on the display again. All dark, whatever I do, manual adjustment of brightness levels, nothing works. At the same time, suspending on battery power with g-p-m by closing the lid goes into an infinite suspend-resume cycle (well after 5 iterations I Sysrq-ed out). Keeping in mind that a simple call to s2ram -f simply worked out of the box from X, <1sec for suspend and <1sec for resume and everything working, can anyone explain what is the usage of g-p-m if it only breaks everyting. BTW, the severity is critical and I insist on that. One *cannot* select a different action but blanking on lid closure in g-p-m, so that will happen regardless what I do -- there is no "No Action". Thus, it will break *every* time I close the lid even when running on AC power. -- Package-specific info: Distro version: squeeze/sid Kernel version: 2.6.32 g-p-m version: 2.28.1 HAL version: 0.5.13 System manufacturer: missing System version: missing System product: missing AC adapter present: yes Battery present: yes Laptop panel present: yes CPU scaling present: yes Battery Information: battery.charge_level.current = 43660 (0xaa8c) (int) battery.charge_level.design = 59500 (0xe86c) (int) battery.charge_level.last_full = 55180 (0xd78c) (int) battery.charge_level.percentage = 79 (0x4f) (int) battery.charge_level.rate = 0 (0x0) (int) battery.is_rechargeable = true (bool) battery.model = '' (string) battery.present = true (bool) battery.rechargeable.is_charging = false (bool) battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = false (bool) battery.reporting.current = 43660 (0xaa8c) (int) battery.reporting.design = 59500 (0xe86c) (int) battery.reporting.last_full = 55180 (0xd78c) (int) battery.reporting.rate = 0 (0x0) (int) battery.reporting.technology = 'Li-ion' (string) battery.reporting.unit = 'mWh' (string) battery.serial = '' (string) battery.technology = 'lithium-ion' (string) battery.type = 'primary' (string) battery.vendor = 'Sony Corporation' (string) battery.voltage.current = 11802 (0x2e1a) (int) battery.voltage.design = 10800 (0x2a30) (int) battery.voltage.unit = 'mV' (string) DeviceKit data: Device: /org/freedesktop/DeviceKit/Power/devices/line_power_AC native-path: /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/ACPI0003:00/power_supply/AC power supply: yes updated: Thu Dec 3 18:17:07 2009 (232 seconds ago) has history: no has statistics: no line-power online: yes Device: /org/freedesktop/DeviceKit/Power/devices/battery_BAT0 native-path: /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0C0A:00/power_supply/BAT0 vendor: Sony Corporation power supply: yes updated: Thu Dec 3 18:20:43 2009 (16 seconds ago) has history: yes has statistics: yes battery present: yes rechargeable: yes state: fully-charged energy: 43.66 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 55.18 Wh energy-full-design: 59.5 Wh energy-rate: 0 W voltage: 11.803 V percentage: 79.1229% capacity: 92.7395% technology: lithium-ion Daemon: daemon-version: 012 can-suspend: yes can-hibernate yes on-battery: no on-low-battery: no lid-is-closed: no lid-is-present: yes GNOME Power Manager Process Information: HAL Process Information: 109 3677 0.0 0.1 33752 4568 ?
