I understand we are waiting for a libogg/libvorbis transition, as per
Luk's message. Still, if I understand correctly, you should try to
link against the shared library (.so), not against a static one (.la,
which was excluded by the maintainer from libogg-dev) - I might be
mistaken on this, but I believe you were staticly linking. 

Still, I am no person to ask regarding compiled languages :)
