You're right: I'm trying to scan from a HP PSC 1510, one of those «beasts». Did as you told me, added “paulo” to group “lp”, here's the output from running “groups”: paulo adm lp dialout cdrom floppy sudo audio video plugdev staff scanner mldonkey But the problem persists: the device is not identified under “paulo“ but it is under “root”. Browsing /var/log/aptitude, I observed these upgrades to libsane: Feb 17th: 1.0.19-23 -> 1.0.19-24 Feb 21st: 1.0.19-24 -> 1.0.19-25 I'd risk a guess that I haven't used the scanner since the 1st upgrade, so the problem seems to have crept in at version 1.0.19-24 or 1.0.19-25. Let me know how we can further debug the problem. Once again my sincere thanks for your readiness Paulo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
