Because it's not a quick fix: changing the egg-info will substantially change the package. I thought we were going to just declare a conflict between the two packages (since this was discovered after the freeze), and sort things out afterward. That said, it's probably better to make the compatibility-breaking change now before release, if the release team is okay with it. Upstream is okay with sidl.babel. instead of just babel. so we have support for this change. However, it will have to go through the NEW queue. Are you saying (for the release team) that this change should go into lenny?
