Package: udev
Version: 0.050-6
Severity: critical

When I installed my new system last month, I used the latest "testing"
install CD and created RAID systems for /usr and /var (RAID1 and RAID0,
respectively).

I then installed the stock 2.6.8 kernel and later the 2.6.10 kernel. So
far, so good. Yesterday I installed "udev" (and "hotplug") to access by
USB camera and "bad things"(tm) happened.

The system ran fine until a reboot and then it failed to mount the RAID
partitions. Some investigation showed that /dev/md0 and /dev/md1 did
not exist. Luckily, I still had the original 2.4 kernel and could boot
with that and "dpkg --purge udev". After that, the system booted
normally again.

As new co-maintainer of mdadm, I herewith acknowledge my previous
NMUs, which have all persisted through the latest release, 1.9.0-4.
These bugs are therefore ready to be archived.
