[...] Seems to have worked. Do a /etc/init.d/hplip stop. Check if any hpssd or hpiod are still running, if yes, tell me so, and kill them to continue the testing. Then, install the package again (latest version). It should just work. If it doesn't, edit /etc/init.d/hplip and add the above exports right after the comments at the top of the file, and try again using "dpkg --pending --configure".
